The "Real Life" Problem

In our last blog, we shared how we helped a company better hold their POS devices on a beach. This is
a continuation of that story.

You see, there is something you can’t always design for on paper: user behavior.

In 2023, their team—many of them younger beach employees—started ditching the tablets altogether. They preferred using their own phones, which led to POS devices being dropped, lost, or shoved into pockets. Not ideal. So, we got creative.

We developed a retractable belt clip system that let employees attach the POS device directly to their clothing. They could keep their phones in hand and simply extend the payment device to the customer when needed.

No pockets, no drops, no lost equipment.

Making It Even Easier

By 2024, the focus shifted to comfort and convenience.

We added a shoulder strap to the existing setup, giving their team a fully hands-free option for long days on the beach.
